Open position - Object N° 133
The name Solitaire is given to pit from which an infantryman is protected when firing. The infantryman stands upright in part of a water conduit lined with concrete. Depending on its situation, it has a raised cover with a horizontal slot to allow firing.
The infantryman could also have dug out a pit in the ground, in an uncovered Solitaire, for protection from direct fire and bursts of fire.
