The "Cointet" barrier

Menu

The “Cointet” barriers were conceived so as to be able to attach on to each other so as to create barrier obstacles on open fields, roads and in front of certain bunkers.

EIn the summer of 1939, more that 100m of Cointet elements were placed on the property of La Bergerie to block the clearing that is now the entrance to the Golf course by the Toblerones line, near to the bunker A729 “Bergerie Centre” .
These elements, around 3 m high, were attached to each other by cables and equipped with rollers for ease of moving around. Cones that were filled with rock debris to anchor them into the ground could replace these rollers.
